Really tough loss. These happen at Coors Field somewhere between one to four times a year. Logan Webb pitched great, and the Giants held a 3-2 lead in the eighth, but the Rockies put up a three spot in the bottom of the eighth to win it 5-3.
GAMEBALL:

Logan Webb
This was a much-needed outing for Webb after struggling the way he has over the last month. The Rockies got to Webb right away for two runs in the bottom of the first inning, and they had runners on first and second against him in the second after a pair of walks, but Webb got out of it, as he set down the next 16 men he faced. Webb did this against a very powerful offense at Coors Field, and even though the Giants blew it late for him, I’m sure this had to feel pretty damn good for him.
TIP OF THE CAP:
Brandon Crawford: 3-for-5 last night, and he went 1-for-3 today, as he also took one for the team to begin the Giants’ two-run second inning. If he could get hot, that would go a long way for this offense.
Thairo: A 3-for-3 day with a pair of a pair of doubles. Have yourself a day, Thairo!
Yaz: Yaz continues to stay hot, as he went 2-for-4 with a base-hit to put the Giants on the board in the second, and he doubled to lead off the fourth and scored.
Slater and Ruf: Both went 0-for-3 and struck out twice, but both also knocked in runs with sac flies. Not a bad balancing act.
JOKER:

Jose Alvarez
Someone had to be the Joker today, though to be honest, Jose Alvarez was more like the Buzzkill of the day.
After Connor Joe ended Logan Webb’s streak of 16-straight set down with a base-hit to left to lead off the bottom of the eighth, Kap pulled him for Jose Alvarez. After Charlie Blackmon sacrificed Joe over to second, Alvarez gave up a game-tying hit to Yonathan Daza, and then hung a slider to C.J. Cron who annihilated it to the back of the bleachers in Left.
SMACK OF THE STICK:
Joey Bart: With Bart now being the backup to Curt Casali, he got a rare start today, and Bart picked up right where he left off, as he went 0-for-4 with a hat trick.
Diamondbacks: Man, and just as I was ready to give them a Tip of the Cap for their nice start. I mean, I knew they were going to fall off at some point, but they sure picked the wrong time to do it, as they got swept in four by the Hated Ones.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
This was a tough loss, but as I said, these happen all the time at Coors Field. Just shake this one off, and go have a good homestand.
